Comparison of different methods

The average moisture before shaping is highest in slip casting of about 28 weight % whereas in dry pressing method it is only 5 weight %. The average moisture after shaping is again highest in slip casting of about 18 weight % whereas the moisture content after shaping does not vary much for the other methods. The average moisture after shaping in dry pressing method is only 5 weight%. Duration of shaping process is highest in slip casting and the lowest in Dry Pressing method whereas the energy consumption is highest in dry pressing method whereas lowest in slip casting method.

The shrinkage after firing is highest in slip casting method and lowest in Dry pressing method. The drying ability is highest in dry pressing method and lowest in slip casting method whereas the energy consumption for drying is lowest in dry pressing method and highest in slip casting method. The productivity is highest in dry pressing method and lowest in the slip casting method. Also the automation level is highest in dry pressing method and lowest in slip casting method.
