China Clay for Ceramics:
China Clay gains in importance in ceramics due to its contribution in Color of the finished objects and its high temperature performance. China Clay results in bodies that range in color from white to ivory. China Clay tend to have moderate particle size of 1 to 2 micro m and because of this particle size, the china clays produce moderate plasticity when compared to the other clay types. The Drying and Firing Shrinkage characteristics also tend to be moderate while comparing with the other clay types. And hence China Clays are widely used in traditional ceramics.
