Ball Clay: Madhya Pradesh
Ball clay available at Bilaspur, Botia and Chandia districts are good variety of clays. The chemical compositions of all the three varieties are almost uniform. However the ball clay from Chandia district is of higher grade and its white burning character is very good due to the lower presence of iron and titanium impurities. The other varieties of Bilaspur and Botia are of very inferior in quality and these clays can be used for lower grade ceramic products.
The Chandia ball clay on proper beneficiation can be converted into very superior grade ball clay and can be used for high quality porcelain tiles, table ware, engobe and glazes.
