The experiment results shows that the morphology, particle size distribution, particle size and surface area are comparatively better for stirred mill media route preparation. The characterization of the sintered sample materials were studied by testing the bending strength of the specimens prepared out of powders from Stirred mill media and Vibro mill.
The micro structural analysis also carried out from the sample specimens by using a scanning electron microscope. The bending strength results shows that the performance of specimens prepared out of stirred mill media is better than the Vibro mill powder specimens. The micro structure studies revealed that the specimen prepared out of stirred mill media powder has got very minute crystallised with less pores space and a compact micro structural arrangement.
The entire experiment reveals that the powder prepared from stirred mill is superior with respect to particle size, particle size distribution, surface area, bending strength, crystal shape and other characteristic related to mechanical strength of the Alumina Ceramics.
