In Fluidized Jet Mills the particles of material to be ground traveling at different speeds impact each other and the particle size reduction takes place. The specific energy of the particles on impact depends on the following factors :
- The speed of the particle traveling.
- The velocity of the gas and the depth of penetration of the particles.
- Residence time of the particles in the grinding chamber.
- The classifiers speed.
- The quantity of gas throughput.
- Then number of particles penetrated in the gas jet.
- The gas speed and nozil shape of the jet.
Jet Mills are used fpr dry grinding process and the maximum fineness we can achieve in the Jet Mills is about 10 microns.
