Wet Grinding route is adopted for more fine material requirement along with some dispersion process is required in combination. We can achieve finest particle size in wet grinding process it is not possible in dry grinding.
During wet grinding impact action is created by the constant impinging of the grinding media due to its random movement and the shearing action is created by the spinning motion of the rotating grinding media. These two forces exerts on the adjacent slurry.
As a result both liquid shearing force and media impact force are present. Such combined shearing and impact results in finest size reduction along with good dispersion. the wet grinding process can we carried over in a batch attritor or in a continuous attritor.
In batch attritor the operation is very simple. All the material to the ground can be loaded directly into the grinding tank without any pre mixing or pre dispersing. Since the top open grinding tank is stationary the process can be observed visually and correction with additional additives can be made at any time.
