There are two methods of milling a) Dry Milling
b) Wet Milling
a) Dry Milling: Dry Milling is a grinding process where in the raw material are crushed and ground to the finest powder form without any liquid presence, whether it is water or any other solvent.
Up to certain fines level dry milling route can be employed. However over and above certain fines level further particle size reduction is not possible. This happens give to mill packing and agglomeration of finds. This leads to a coating over the grinding media and mill lining and limits the size reduction further.
Dry milling is used to obtain certain level of fineness and further processing is done through wet milling process.
