Shaping of tableware (..contd)

Now a days fully automatic machines are available where in plastic body is spread by a heated electric die over the mould and then finished off by rotating under a profile while being sprayed with water. In the roller machine the roller spreads the clay on the mould to the required shape using an electrically heated roller.

In some factories, for articles which can not readily be jolleyed, a plastic pressing process is adopted. In this process the plaster moulds are made from a hard plaster and the clay is shaped by pressing on the plaster mould. The article is removed by blowing compressed air. The mould is re circulated and de-watered moulds are again kept in a position to receive the plastic clay and the process continues.
