Unlike China clay, Ball clay undergoes natural processing by natural agents like rivers, streams and wind. However during natural processing, Ball clay is contaminated with other impurities and hence separating the unwanted impurities from the Clay becomes one of the prime important techniques in the Processing of Ball clay.
Since the clay undergoes continuous changes (due to natural agents that attack the fineness), the physical properites and chemical composition vary drastically. Hence, to maintain uniform characteristics for Ball clay becomes a challenging technique.
Apart from purification, blending of the different varieties of clay available in various depths of the clay mines is another important process in Ball clay beneficiation industries.
There are TWO prominent types of Beneficiation processes used:
- Dry Process
- Wet Process
